BYLAWS

ARTICLE I

NAME

The name of this Corporation is the RAINBOW SENIORS of WESTERN NEW YORK, INC. (RSWNY, Inc.)

ARTICLE II

OFFICES

The principal office of the Corporation shall be located at such place in the City of Rochester, County of Monroe, State of New York, as shall be designated in the Certificate of Incorporation.  As of the date of adoption of these Bylaws, the principal office is in the City of Rochester, County of Monroe, State of New York.  The Corporation may also have offices at such other places within or without this state as the Board may from time to time determine or the business of the Corporation may require.

ARTICLE III

PURPOSE

Section 1: Mission

The mission of this Corporation is to provide services that promote quality living and address specific life issues affecting the general welfare of older gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, transgendered, and intersex individuals (GLBTI).

Section 2: Goals

Goals include, but are not limited to, the following:

a.     Provide resources for personal services to older GLBTIs that include, but are not limited to companionship, home visits, assistance with personal needs, telephone reassurance, and transportation.

b.     Organize activities such as social and life enriching programs and events for older GLBTIs.

c.     Network and collaborate with community-based organizations providing human services generally available to older people to share services and programs and increase awareness about the special needs of older GLBTIs.

d.     Provide positive images of growing older and advocate for the rights of older GLBTIs in both the gay and non-gay communities.
